I started Discover Vietnam, LLC in 1997. Our first cycling tour was in February 1998.


The idea to conduct cycling tours in Vietnam came to me while I was cycling in Vietnam with a different tour company. On that trip the hotel accommodations and the meals were mediocre. Without sufficient rest days and with lots of mileage each day we did not have time to enjoy the beautiful scenery, visit some of the historical sites, and meet many of the friendly and wonderful people of Vietnam.


I decided that I could provide a cycling tour in Vietnam that combines cycling, sightseeing, and the many culinary and cultural experiences that the country has to offer. Furthermore my tour members should enjoy the highest quality of hotels and resorts and fine food.


Vietnam is a most enchanting country, with spectacular views and scenery, with a rich and ancient culture, and with the most friendly people you will meet anywhere. My cycling tour is paced to spend sufficient time in some of the most scenic and historical locations, like Hanoi, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang and Dalat.


In 2002, we inaugurated the Mekong River Delta cycling tour. This tour explores the most interesting parts of the vast delta region. It is a most relaxing tour. The terrain is mostly flat, and the tour takes us primarily on paved country roads, through quaint villages, along tranquil water ways and canals. Again the hotels on this tour are superb and the food is exquisite.


“Cycling the Most Scenic Parts of Vietnam” is probably the most appropriate way to describe my cycling tours. My support team is the best; experienced and professional. I have worked with the same support staff since the beginning, and most of them are hand picked by me because of their specials skills and knowledge. The quality of food is one very important item on my tour. My wife Hoa, a former restaurant manager in the city of Dalat, and an excellent cook, designs the menu for the meals that we will eat while on the tour. We strive to offer a wide variety of tasty and healthy meals, and the best cuisine that Vietnam has.


In 2008 we will inaugurate a tour which has been my dream for some time. Cooking is one of my passions and the Vietnamese cuisine is one of most unique and exquisite delights of the world. Our tour members will experience


In addition our featured tours, we offer short optional trips for those tour members that wish to extend their visit in Vietnam and who want to see more of the country. In the north we offer trips to Halong Bay (with or without kayaking), Cat Ba Island, and Sapa. In the south, trips to the Cu Chi Tunnels, the seaside resort of Vung Tau, Phu Quoc Island, the Mekong River Delta region, and Cambodia and Angkor Wat can be arranged.


My goal is to provide each tour member with a fantastic and safe adventure and to return home with wonderful lifetime memories.
